Jena Goldsack’s Secret for the Best Pre-Makeup Skincare Routine

Jena Goldsack is not a city girl. The Cornwall-bred model counts mountain peaks in Switzerland and Kangaroo-strewn beaches in Australia as her favorite places, but as one of the industry’s most in-demand new faces, she often finds herself navigating urban centers, bustling from job to social event and back again. On a recent September evening in Manhattan, she was doing just that, jetting from work to her room at the Bowery Hotel to telegraph the radiance of a day in the country before dinner in the city. “I want to give my skin a little refresh,” she says, stepping into a cloud of mist, then wiping off the day’s makeup and SPF with an Amore Pacific no-nonsense oil cleanser that breaks down grime. But she doesn’t stop there. A truly next-level glow is the product of a stealth regimen, including a deep double cleanse courtesy of Amore Pacific’s foaming face wash. “It’s my new look,” Goldsack deadpans as it bubbles on her skin.

But it’s clear the Englishwoman’s favorite step in her routine is Amore Pacific’s cool, amber Time Response Vintage Wash-Off Masque. Beyond the antioxidant and complexion-brightening effects of the seven-day fermented green tea leaves comprising the gel concoction, Goldsack says simply, “It smells like a cup of tea on your face.” A true home-away-from-home experience that calls for a selfie. If only Instagram had scratch and sniff capabilities.

Finally, the model seals in the vigor with the Vintage Single Extract Essence, (or as she calls it, the all-important “skin booster”) followed by a dewy-finish moisturizer, the Essential Crème Fluid massaged from forehead to chin. The supernatural effect could stand on its own, but it just so happens to double as the ideal base for after-dark makeup. Or, in Goldsack’s words, as she sucks in her cheeks emphasizing her razor-sharp bone structure with swirls of blush, “My skin is feeling great, radiant, glowing.” In a matter of minutes.
